Government deposits drop to €870m after debt repayment

The Central Bank of Cyprus said that the balance in the government’s account fell to €870.3m in November 2017 from €1.5bn the month before.

The government’s debt to the supervisory authority was reduced to €510.9m last month from €1.1bn, after the government made a €614.9m early repayment of its debt to the bank supervisor, the Central Bank of Cyprus said in its November balance sheet on its website.

The size of the Central Bank’s balance sheet was reduced to €15.3bn last month from €15.8bn in October, it said.
