Close to 32% of the eligible population has received at least one dose of a Covid vaccine, with around 10% receiving both, the health ministry said on Wednesday.
In a written statement, the ministry said 307,698 doses had been administered by Tuesday — 35 doses per 100 people – with 235,919 people, or 31.9%, receiving one dose and 9.9%, or 71,779 people, completing their vaccination.
The ministry said it aimed to administer at least one dose to over 60% of the people who can be vaccinated by the end of June.
People belonging to the 30 to 39 age group are currently receiving their jabs after setting up appointments through the vaccination portal.
The portal will be open on Thursday between 7.30am and 8pm for those between 35 and 36 and Friday for the 33 to 34 age group.
According to the ministry, vaccinations have resulted in a dramatic drop in hospitalisations among the elderly.
It said 84.8% of people aged 80 and above have received at least one dose, while coverage in the 70 to 79 group has reached 80.5%.
A rise has been recorded in the 60 to 69 group, with coverage so far reaching 58.4%.
