Announcement of Appointment for Principals

K. Treppides & Co Ltd, the largest independent consulting firm in Cyprus, is pleased to announce the following appointments of Principals committed to the development of the firm’s structure from within and to high quality of service derived from its own people.

Ms. Marilena Nicolaou

Ms. Marilena Nicolaou holds a BA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance.

She is a Fellow Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA) and a member of ICPAC. She is a member of the Auditing Standards committee of ICPAC.

Ms. Marilena Nicolaou has 16 years of experience in the audit profession. She has accumulated her experience through providing audit and assurance services to both local and international companies, public and private, operating in various industries and sectors. These include the consumer and industrial products and service sector, the technology, information, communications and entertainment sector and the financial services sector (including banking institutions regulated by the Central Bank of Cyprus and Cyprus Investment Firms regulated by Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission).

She has extensive knowledge and technical expertise on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs) and International Standards on Auditing (ISAs) and is actively participating in discussion forum on ISAs principles. She has an in depth knowledge and experience with the Cyprus Income Tax Legislation.

Mr. Costas Loizou

Mr. Costas Loizou holds a BA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance.

He is a Fellow Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA) and member of ICPAC. He is a member of the Economic Crime and Forensic Accounting committee of ICPAC.

Mr. Costas Loizou has significant knowledge in the audit and assurance services fields which he obtained from his more than 14 years’ experience in the UK and Cyprus. Mr Loizou has accumulated extensive knowledge on UK entities and has gathered a solid comprehension with Investment Firms as well as experience with practises of Transfer Pricing Rules and studies as well as a wide knowledge in International Business Industry with regards to the correct application of Tax, VAT and International Accounting standards.

He has also experience in forensic accounting and is well experienced as an expert witness in legal proceedings in relation to financial disputes.

Mr. Loizou has an excellent knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs), International Standards on Auditing (ISAs), UK General Accepted Accounting Practice and the Cyprus Income Tax Legislation.

Mr. Cosmas Cosma

Mr. Cosmas Cosma holds a BA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance and BSc (Hons) in Economics.

He is a Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA) and a practicing member of the ICPAC. Mr. Cosmas Cosma is also a member of the Cyprus Investment Fund Association (CIFA) and member of the International Business and Foreign Investment Committee of ICPAC.

Mr. Cosmas Cosma has more than 10 years of experience in the audit and assurance services field and accumulated his experience through providing audit and assurance services to both local and international companies, public and private, operating in various industries and sectors. These include the industrial and service sector, the technology, information, communications, gaming and entertainment sector and the financial services sector including banking institutions regulated by Central Bank of Cyprus and Cyprus Investment Firms regulated by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission. He is also experienced in Business Valuations.

Mr. Cosmas Cosma has excellent knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs), International Standards on Auditing (ISAs) and Maltese General Accounting Principles for Smaller Entities (GAPSE). He also has the role of the Compliance Officer and the role of Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) in the UK Office.
