Big boost for tourist arrivals in the first third of 2015

Tourist arrivals marked an increase of 11.3% in April 2015 compared to the corresponding month of 2014 and an increase of 13.7% for the first third of the year.

According to the Statistical Service of the Republic of Cyprus, on the basis of the results of the Passengers Survey, arrivals of tourists reached 201.495 in April 2015 compared to 180.998 in April 2014, recording an increase of 11.3%.

An increase of 13.3% was recorded in tourist arrivals from the United Kingdom (from 73.556 in April 2014 to 83.361 in April 2015), 71.8% increase from Greece (from 10.374 to 17.825) and 9.2% increase from Germany (from 10.465 to 11.433 this year). On the other hand a decrease of 22.5% was recorded in tourist arrivals from Russia (25.149 in April 2015 compared to 32.430 in April 2014).
