The number of company registrations rose in May 11% to 1,271 compared to the respective month of 2017, the Department of Registrar of Companies and Official Receiver said.
In the first five months of the year, the number of company registrations, an indicator of the performance of the corporate services industry, rose an annual 14% to 6,281, the department said.
The number of applications for names rose in May an annual 6.9% to 2,789 and in January to May 28% to 14,568, it said.
The number of certified documents issued rose last month 5.7% to 29,985 and in the first five months of the year 6.8% to 144,180 compared to the respective period of last year, the department said. The number of documents submitted dropped in May 9.4% to 10,778 and rose in January to May 8.3% to 60,219.
