In the first four months of the year, the number of company registrations, an indicator of the performance of the Cypriot corporate services sector, rose an annual 4.9% to 5,009, the department said in an emailed statement recently.

The number of applications for company names rose 72% in April to 3,476 and 11% to 11,767 in January to April compared to the respective period a year before, the registrar of companies said. The issue of certified documents rose 11% in April to 26,690 and 2.4% to 114,157 in the first four months of the year.

Lastly, the submission of other documents rose 1.2% last month to 9,744 compared to April 2017 and 4.3% to 49,383 in January to April compared to the respective period last year, the department said.
