Construction output falls 18% in Q1 2015

Production output in construction dropped 18% in January to March 2015, compared to the respective period a year before, the statistical service said recently.

Building output rose 0.9% in the first quarter compared to a January to March 2014 while civil engineer projects fell 51%, Cystat said in a statement on its website today.

In a separate statement, Cystat said that producer prices in construction rose 1.8% in the first quarter of 2015 compared to a year before and rose 1.5% compared to the previous quarter.

In addition, the price for civil engineer projects rose 6.7% while buildings became 0.5% cheaper in the first quarter of 2015 compared to a year before, Cystat said.
