Cruise ship brings 1,000 passengers to Larnaca after two-year hiatus

A cruise ship carrying around 1,000 passengers from Israel docked at Larnaca port on Friday after a two-year hiatus of the service due to the Covid-19 restrictions.

The Crown Iris cruise ship came from Haifa on its first voyage of 15 scheduled arrivals to the port between May and November 2022.

According to a Larnaca tourism board statement released on Friday, it is estimated that the company will bring 20,000 passengers to Larnaca throughout the summer season.

Representatives of the Larnaca municipality, the Larnaca Tourism Board and Kition Ocean Holdings Ltd welcomed the passengers with local delicacies and folkloric music and dance at the dock.

Moshe Mano, the owner of Mano Maritime Cruises, the company that operates the cruise ship, was also there, greeted by mayor of Larnaca Andreas Vyras.

Two more cruise ships, called Clio and La Belle De L’Adriatique, are also set to dock at the port within the year.
