Cruises from Israel to Cyprus resume

Larnaca port is preparing to welcome back cruise ships from Haifa, Israel, expected to boost tourism.

The service offers Israeli tourists one day cruises as well as the opportunity for a short stay in Cyprus. The cruises will be offered at least twice weekly until November 2014, particularly over the weekends. They will be combined with excursions elsewhere on the island.

Last year, Israeli cruise ships brought more than 50,000 visitors to Cyprus on a one-day visit. This year, everything will depend on bookings by Israeli tourists and based on this a decision will be held on how often the cruise will be offered. As in previous years, the Israeli side is insisting on increased security measures at Larnaca Port.
