Cypriot Companies: Extension of Annual Levy 2021

At the most recent Plenary session of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Cyprus yesterday, the House of Representatives has unanimously approved an amendment to the Companies Act (Cap. 113) in order to extend the deadline for the payment of the annual levy for the year 2021 for Cypriot companies until 31st December 2021.

In addition, the amending Law further gives the power to the Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry to extend the deadline even further, with the issuing of the relevant Decree.

In accordance with the report accompanying the amending Bill, the aforesaid amendment was deemed necessary to combat the adverse financial consequences caused by the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic to Cypriot companies.
