Cyprus and Ireland could and will cooperate further on issues of agriculture and the environment, Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment Minister Nicos Kouyialis said recently.
He was talking to journalists after a meeting with Irish Ambassador to Nicosia Patrick Scullion.
Kouyialis also said the two agreed that the European Commission should adopt additional measures to address the negative economic impact of the Russian embargo on European products on the economies of both countries.
Monday’s meeting aimed at preparing the ground for Kouyialis’ working visit to Ireland on Wednesday.
They also discussed the new Rural Development Programme 2014-2020 the approval of which is expected shortly by the Commission.
