Cyprus banks' deposits at €45.7b in March 2016

Deposits in the Cypriot banking system in March 2016 reached €45.7 billion recording a net outflow of €95.5 million, figures released recently by the Central Bank of Cyprus show.

In February of the current year, deposits increased by €78.4 million. On an annual basis, deposits in March rose by 2.0% compared to an increase of 1.9% in February.

Meanwhile, total loans in March 2016 amounted to €57.5 billion marking a decline of 7.5% year on year compared with an annual reduction of 7.8% in February.

Total loans in March registered a net reduction of €617.6 million compared with a reduction of €90.3 million in February.
