Cyprus Chief Scientist promotes Cyprus as regional research and innovation hub in Dubai

Cyprus’s Chief Scientist for Research and Innovation of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikolas Mastroyiannopoulos participated in the International Technology Exhibition, “Gitex Technology Week” held in Dubai, with the aim to attract investments on technology and start-up companies and to create strong synergies in the field.

He was also accompanied by other officials of Cyprus’ Research and Innovation Foundation

According to a press release of the Research and Innovation Foundation, the exhibition, which took place between 17 and 21 October 2021, is one of the largest in the world and was attended by technology companies, international companies and government agencies from more than twenty countries.

Cyprus participated with a national stand and the Chief Scientist in an interview to Khalil Ramadi, outlined the vision and strategy of the Republic for Research and Innovation.

In particular, the Chief Scientist spoke about intensification of Cyprus’s country ties with other countries, strengthening the visibility of the domestic research and development ecosystem and promoting Cyprus as a regional hub for research and innovation.
