Cyprus Energy Minister to address a Natural Gas Europe event in Brussels

Cyprus Minister of Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism, George Lakkotrypis departs for Brussels where he will be a key speaker in an event titled 'Cyprus: A Key Player in the Eastern Mediterranean Region' organised by Natural Gas Europe.

EU Commission Vice President, Commissioner for the EU Energy Union Maros Sefcovic will also address the event. The event will be attended by high ranking hydrocarbon industry executives, as well as by EU member-state officials.

Lakkotrypis will take part in the EU Competitiveness Council focusing on EU Commission strategy on the Single Digital Market for Europe. The EU Ministers will exchange views on the contribution of digitalisation to productivity and more specifically on the field of services and will discuss the issue of better regulation to strengthen competitiveness.

Prior to the Council, the EU Ministers will hold a working lunch with Ministers responsible for telecommunications and will discuss aspects of the Strategy for the Digital Single market.
