Cyprus: Fiscal surplus of 1.7%, fiscal debt of 95.5% of GDP in 2019

Cyprus had a fiscal surplus of 1.7% of GDP and fiscal debt of 95.5% of GDP in 2019, preliminary data released by the Cyprus Statistical Service show.

The Statistical Service has announced on its website the preliminary fiscal results for 2019, which “have been audited and verified within the Excessive Deficit Procedure framework of the European Commission.”

“The results for 2019 indicate a fiscal surplus of €380.4 million, which corresponds to 1.7% of GDP and a fiscal debt of €20,958 million, which corresponds to 95.5% of GDP,” it says.
