Cyprus golf tourism drive

Cyprus hosted over 40 specialist golf travel organisers from eight countries, in a collective effort between the four local golf courses and affiliated hotels and the Cyprus Tourism Organisation (CTO) to promote the island as a tourist golf destination.

The two-day programme included golf games at all four golf courses, and gave guests the opportunity to enjoy a unique culinary experience and authentic Cypriot hospitality, according to a press release issued by the CTO on Wednesday.

The Golf Farm Trip hosted tour operators from the UK, Sweden, Norway, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium and Hungary. The ultimate goal is to highlight Cyprus’ competitive advantages in an effort to best promote Cyprus as a Golf Destination, especially in the winter months.

Cyprus has the potential to become a ‘Golf Paradise’.

It has golf courses with international and European acclaim offering unique golf experiences, quality hotel infrastructure and services as well as ideal climate especially during the winter when most golf courses in Central and Northern Europe are closed.
