A world-leading travel metasearch engine focusing on hotels, trivago said Wednesday its collected data shows that Cyprus accommodation is up to 30% cheaper than it was in June 2014. The most significant reduction was noted in Protaras at 30.1%, Kakopetria at 13% and Paphos at 8.6% falling from an average €116 per person per night to €106.
However, there was also a 9.3% annual increase for Larnaca with the average price of a stay rising from €75 to €82 per person per night.
Comparing data from May and June this year, shows both upward and downward price trends with €106 the current average price for a one-night stay at a hotel per person.
Limassol, Paphos and Larnaca displayed price increases from month to month, albeit small ones of between 2% and 9%.
The average price in Ayia Napa, however, rose to €129, a €30 or 30.3% increase from May.
The average price of a stay in Kakopetria and Protaras, meanwhile, dropped by 3% and 5%.
