Consumer prices fell 2.2% in June 2016, compared with the respective month of 2015 – after falling 2.1% in May – mainly on reduced electricity prices, cheaper airfares and fuel, the statistical service said.
Compared with May, consumer prices fell 0.1% in June as the reduced prices for fruits, clothing, electricity, and other goods and services more than offset the monthly price hikes in vegetables, fuel and airfares, Cystat said in a statement on its website on Thursday.
In the first half of the year, Cyprus posted a 2.2% deflation, Cystat said.
