Cyprus March 2016 inflation up by 0.67%

Cyprus’ Consumer Price Index for March 2016 increased by 0.65 units or 0.67% to 97.89 units compared to 97.24 in February 2016.

According to the island’s statistical service (Cystat), this is mainly due to increases in the prices of certain clothing and footwear and airfares. Decreases have been recorded in the prices of certain vegetables.

On a month-on-month basis, the rate of inflation for March 2016 decreased by -2.5% compared to -2.6% in February 2016. On an annual basis, the corresponding rate for March 2015 was –1.9%.
