Cyprus' rate of inflation down by -1.6% in April 2014

The rate of inflation for April 2014 decreased by -1.6% compared to -2.3% in March 2014 and -0.03% in April 2013.

According to the Statistical Service of the Republic of Cyprus, the Consumer Price Index for April 2014 increased by 0,26 units or 0.22%, to 117,78 units compared to 117.52 in March 2014.

This is mainly due to increases in the prices of certain clothing and footwear items, electricity and certain fresh fruit.

For the period January-April 2014, the CPI recorded a decrease of -2.3% compared to the corresponding period of 2013.
