Cyprus Registrar of Companies: Steady rise in company registrations

The new statistics of the Cyprus Registrar of Companies and Official Receiver show that the total number of registered companies in Cyprus in 2018 reached 216,572, compared to 217,588 in 2017.

A crucial factor contributing to the upward trend of company registration in Cyprus, is the attractive legal and tax regime.

The number of new company registration in 2018 reached 14,521. It is worth nothing that 2017 was the year with the most registration of companies, the number totaling at 29,016.

On record, 2013 was the year with the largest total number of registered companies in Cyprus, the number totaling at 272,157.

Moreover, there were 32,117 applications for name approvals in 2018.

It is also worth noting that the number of companies that went bankrupt in 2018 amounted to 97 and the number of voluntary company dissolutions 2,378.
