Cyprus requests additional EU support to counter embargo on Russia

Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment Nicos Kouyialis recently told his EU counterparts in Brussels that Cyprus needs additional support to counter the fallout of the embargo the EU has imposed on Russia.

Addressing an EU Agriculture Council, Kouyialis said that despite EU exports going up by 5% last year, Cypriot producers suffered significant loss of income due to the embargo, an official press release says.

He stressed the need for new support measures to be implemented for citrus fruit farmers and leafy vegetable farmers in Cyprus.
