The Republic of Cyprus recently signed, in Strasburg, the base of the Council of Europe (CoE), the CoE-OECD Convention on Mutual Administrative Assistance in Tax Matters (ETS no. 127) and its Protocol (ETS no. 208).
With this Convention, the reinforcement of international cooperation between the Council of Europe and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development ’s member states that signed the Convention is pursued, with ultimate goal being the combating and countering of tax avoidance and tax evasion, reports the government.
