Cyprus trade deficit down by €19.3m in January 2014

The trade deficit of Cyprus recorded an annual decrease of €19.3 million in January 2014.

Cyprus’ Statistical Service said the deficit was €270.9 million in January 2014 compared to €290.2 million in the corresponding month of 2013.

It said total imports/arrivals (covering total imports from third countries and arrivals from other Member States) in January 2014 amounted to €381.7 million as compared to €410.1 million a year earlier.

Total exports/dispatches (covering total exports to third countries and dispatches to other Member States) in January 2014 were €110.8 million compared to €120.0 million in January 2013.

Exports/dispatches of domestically produced goods, including stores and provisions, were €61,4 million whilst exports/dispatches of foreign goods, including stores and provisions, were €49,4 million in January 2014.
