Cyprus' trade deficit increased in 2016

The trade deficit of Cyprus increased to €4.223,4mn in 2016, from €3.402,0mn in 2015, the Statistical Service said recently.

Total imports/arrivals (covering total imports from third countries and arrivals from other EU member states) in January-December 2016 amounted to €5.960,0mn as compared to €5.141,6mn in January-December 2015.

Total exports/dispatches (covering total exports to third countries and dispatches to other EU Member States) in January-December 2016 were €1.736,5mn compared to €1.739,7mn in January-December 2015.

In December 2016 total imports/arrivals (covering total imports from third countries and arrivals from other EU Member States) valued at €562,1mn.
