Delta variant of coronavirus remained dominant between late June and September 12, the health ministry said on Wednesday, being detected in all the recently tested samples.
The B.1.617.2 variant was detected in 100% of the samples taken from Covid-positive people of all districts between August 23 and September 12, which were tested in a local lab.
Detection was successful in 90 out of 92 samples which were sent, the ministry said.
The Delta variant remained dominant from June 28 to September 12, the announcement added.
