EY Cyprus announces donation and fundraising to help the victims of the catastrophic wildfire

While the effects of the catastrophic wildfire in the mountainous regions of Limassol and Larnaca are still being assessed, with the tragic loss of life and damage to private property and natural resources, EY Cyprus expresses its sincere condolences to the families of the victims and its deepest sympathy to all those affected.

As a token of support, EY announced today a donation, as well as a fundraising among its staff to help the people who suffered from the fire and to restore damages and the natural environment.

Stavros Pantzaris, Chairman of the Board of Directors of EY Cyprus, commented: “We are all devastated by the catastrophic wildfire on our island, which led to the tragic loss of four lives and to enormous material and environmental damage. This is a tragedy to which we cannot remain indifferent. We have an obligation to assist in any way we can in the effort to alleviate the suffering and repair the damage left behind by the wildfire. On behalf of EY, I would like to express our gratitude to the professionals and volunteers who risked their lives on the front line to extinguish the fire, the medical staff and healthcare workers, as well as all the unseen heroes who continue to work tirelessly to meet the needs of community members and those who have been affected".

The corporate donation and employee fundraising from EY Cyprus will be processed in the next few days.
