EY Cyprus announces three new Partners

After a strong performance against a challenging backdrop, EY Cyprus, staying true to its commitment to building a better working world, continues to place people at the center of its corporate culture. The firm offers professional development and recognition to its executives and reinforces its teams with new talent. In this context, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Andreas Avraam as Partner, and Aristodemos Yiannakas and Charalambos Palaontas as Associate Partners, who have demonstrated excellence in their respective field of expertise. This comes as a recognition of their hard work, high performance, exceptional client service and contribution to their teams. The new Partners took up their new role as of July 1st, 2021.

Andreas Avraam, Assurance Services

Andreas Avraam holds an Accounting & Finance degree with First-Class Honors from the London School of Economics, UK and he is a Fellow Chartered Accountant of the ICAEW. He is also a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus, where he served as a member of its Education Committee for a number of years. During his academic and professional studies, he was awarded various international prizes. 

Andreas started his career in September 2001 in a Big4 firm and joined EY Cyprus in February 2018 as an Assurance Associate Partner, based in Limassol. His experience includes leading multinational teams and offering assurance services to local and international clients across several industries, including serving Boards and Audit Committees of listed companies. He has deep knowledge of International Standards on Auditing (ISA), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Cyprus Companies Law requirements. 

Aristodemos Yiannakas, Forensic & Integrity Services

Aristodemos Yiannakas holds a BA (Hons) in Economics, Master of Business Administration, MSc in Internal Auditing and Management and a PhD in Internal Auditing from City University Business School in London. He is also a Certified Fraud Examiner. He is a member of the Board of the Cyprus Institute of Internal Auditors since 2009 and during the last two years he is serving as Vice President. He is also a member of the Board of the Cyprus Integrity Forum, an independent member of the Financial Crime and Forensic Accounting Committee of The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus, and a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

Aristodemos has more than 20 years of experience in the provision of internal audit, corporate compliance, fraud investigation as well as other consulting services, in companies and organisations operating both in Cyprus and abroad. He is currently leading the Forensic & Integrity Services at EY Cyprus.

Charalambos Palaontas, Transfer Pricing Services

Charalambos Palaontas joined EY in 2008 while studying at Lancaster University from which he graduated in 2010. He has extensive international professional experience after having worked across assurance, tax and transfer pricing services in London, New York, Athens and Cyprus. He is experienced in advising local and multinational clients on tax matters and is specialized on transfer pricing services. Charalambos is a qualified Chartered Accountant of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS) and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC). He is currently leading our Transfer Pricing services team in Cyprus.
