Foreign property buyers acquire 543 assets in seven months 2017

The number of foreign property buyers dropped 8.4% in July to 87 compared with the respective month of 2016, the Department of Lands and Surveys said.

From January to July, the total number of real properties that went into hands of non-Cypriots rose 1.2% to 543 compared with the respective period of 2016, the department said in statement on its website. Limassol attracted 165 foreign buyers, lured to the property market also with visa and naturalisation schemes, followed by Paphos with 114.

Total property transactions rose an annual 18% in July to 739 and 20% in January to July to 4,349, according to a separate statement.
