Harmonized inflation negative in 2014

Harmonized inflation (HICP) recorded a negative rate in December 2014 after seven consecutive months, compared with December 2013, according to new data from the Statistical Service of Cyprus.

For the twelve months of 2014 HICP stood at -0.3%, compared with 0.4% in 2013.

The inflation for December 2014 decreased at -1,0% while in November 2014 the inflation stood at 0%. The corresponding rate for December 2013, decreased at -1,3 %.

The last time HICP recorded a negative rate was in May 2014 when it fell by 0.1%.
