January 2016 industrial and manufacturing production increases

Industrial production rose 6.4% in January 2016 compared to a year before as a general output increase in all other categories offset a drop in water supply and recycling, the statistical service said.

Manufacturing output rose in January an annual 7.1%, accompanied by a 14% increase in mining and quarrying and 6.7% rise in electricity supply, Cystat said in a statement on its website on Wednesday. Water supply and recycling fell 2.5% in January compared to a year before.

In January, industrial production was 32% below the average monthly output of 2010 and in manufacturing 38% less, according to Cystat.
