Cyprus' largest solar park goes on-line

HELLAS Sat Consortium Ltd is operating the largest solar park in Cyprus, the company announced recently.

The park, which is located in Kofinou, has the capacity to produce 150 KWp, while the maximum daily production recorded in full sunlight conditions on April 5, was 1027,30 KWh.

Hellas Sat’s Executive Manager Christodoulos Protopapas, said that the energy produced by the park is exclusively used to power the facilities of the company.

He added that the park’s production will lead to a significant reduction of the company’s energy costs making it a highly effective investment.

“Despite the fact that the park was completed in May 2014, it took six months for it to be connected to the EAC’s grid after time-consuming and bureaucratic procedures were bypassed,” the company said in an announcement.
