Lending interest rates in Cyprus increase in June 2017

Lending interest rates for the main loan categories increased in June 2017 according to data released by the Central Bank of Cyprus.

According to the CBC figures, interest rates for consumer credit increased by 19 basis points reaching 4.23% in June from 4.04% the previous month. 

The interest rate for housing loans amounted to 2.82% in June, recording a small rise of 6 basis points compared with May.

Interest rates for corporate loans up to €1 million increased to 4.05%compared with 3.92% in May.

Loan rates for corporate loans over €1 million declined to 3.56% in June compared with 3.70% the previous month.

Interest rate paid by banks for household deposits with agreed maturity up to one year declined to 1.35% in June from 1.37% the month before.

The respective rate for corporate deposits remained unchanged to 1.48%.
