Loans down, deposits rise in Cypriot banks in February 2016

Total deposits in Cypriot banks in February 2016 recorded a net increase of €78.4m, compared with a net increase of €234.5m in January 2016, according to data published by the Central Bank of Cyprus (CBC).

The annual growth rate stood at 1.9%, compared with 1.3% in January 2016. The outstanding amount of deposits reached €46.2 billion in February 2016.

According to the data, total loans in February 2016 exhibited a net decrease of €90.3 million, compared with a net decrease of €3.016,3 million in January 2016. The annual growth rate stood at -7.8%, compared with -7.9% in January 2016.

The outstanding amount of loans reached €59.2 billion in February 2016.
