Manufacturing output down 3% in August 2014

Manufacturing production fell 3.0% year-on-year in August to 54.8 points, as most manufacturing sectors saw their production decline, the statistical service said recently.

Overall industrial output fell in August an annual 0.5% to 66.8 points, Cystat said in a statement on its website today.

Output in mining and quarrying fell 28% in August compared to a year before to 16.8 points, while electricity production and water supply and material recovery rose 2.4% and 12.8% to 107.9 points and 93.4 points respectively.

Between January and August, manufacturing output fell 1.4% to 70.4 points while industrial production stood at 72.4 points, which was 0.8% respective 2013 levels.
