Maritime security, S&R discussed in Oman

Cyprus Defence Minister Christoforos Fokaides and his Omani counterpart Sayyid Badr Bin Saud Bin Hareb Al Busaidi recently discussed issues of mutual interest in humanitarian missions and search and rescue operations.

Fokaides’ visit to the Sultanate of Oman wrapped up on Tuesday and took place within the framework of initiatives taken by the government to promote the role, which Cyprus can play in the broader region.

During the meeting, issues of mutual concern were discussed, such as maritime security, addressing terrorism, new disproportionate threats and the need for cooperation to promote regional stability.
