NPLs remain high in March 2015

Non-performing loans in Cyprus' banks remained at the same high levels at the end of March 2015, according to the latest figures released by the Central Bank of Cyprus.

More specifically out of the total €59.9 billion loans to banks and the Cooperative Institutions on 31st March 2015, the €27.6 billion or 46.09% were non-performing, compared to €27,8 billion or 46.13% on 28th February 2015. By late March, measures aimed at restructuring were taken for 21.7% of NPLs.

At the end of March, business NPLs amounted to €13.8 billion or 55.81% of the €24,8 billion total business loans, remaining at the same level as they were at the end of February. Measures aimed at restructuring were taken for 27.8% of these NPLs by the end of March.

Household NPLs reached €12,6 billion in late March or 53.9% of total loans in the category, compared to €12,8 billion in late February.
