Property sales fall 6% in November 2014

The number of property transactions fell in November 2014 by 6% island-wide to 370 compared to the year before.

For the first time since March, as the number of property sales in Limassol and Paphos, the main areas of buyer interest, fell by a double-digit rate, the department of lands and surveys said.

In January to November, the number of property transactions rose 20% compared to the respective period last year to 4073, the department said in a statement on its website.

The number of transactions in Paphos district fell in the previous month 32% to 92 compared to a year ago, while those in Limassol fell 21% to 103, the statement said. The number of transactions rose in Larnaca 74% to 82, in Nicosia 18% to 73 and in the Famagusta area 5% to 20.
