Property sales recover following lockdown easing

Property sales island-wide are back to February levels in June following the lockdown brought about by the Coronavirus outbreak, Insider reports.

According to data from the Lands and Surveys Department, 1296 applications were submitted in June, nearly twice as many as May (626) and more than in February (1216). A total of 4859 applications have been submitted with the Department since the start of 2020.

A recovery in property sales was recorded in all districts as follows:

Nicosia: 471 property sales in June compared to 181 in May. Sales for the year have reached 1476.

Limassol: 335 property sales in June compared to 343 in February. Registrations with the Lands and Surveys Department for the year are now at 1320.

Larnaca: 189 property sales in June compared to 88 in May. Sales for the year are at 832.

Famagusta: 73 sales in June compared to 33 in May. A total of 281 sales have been recorded since the start of the year.

Paphos: 228 registrations in June, up from 142 in May. A total of 950 sales have been recorded since the start of the year.
