Restructured NPLs reached €7.76b

Loan restructurings went ahead at a slow and steady pace to reach a total of €7.76 billion by the end of 2015 according to the Central Bank of Cyprus.

In a letter to the House of Representatives by Chrystalla Georghadji, the Central Bank Governor said that in the last quarter of 2015, there were €1.35 billion new restructurings while during the fourth quarter it was €829.86 million.

An examination of the restructurings shows that there are differences between the credit institutions, depending on their portfolio.

The Central Bank said that loan restructurings has reached 31.64% of the €24.5 billion total.

Restructured loans at Bank of Cyprus by the end of 2015 had reached €4.69 billion, of which €1.59 billion relates to individuals and €584,280 to small business loans. Restructured corporate loans came up to €2.21 billion.

At the Cooperative Central Bank (CCB), by the end of 2015 restructurings came to €1.4 billion of which €1.03 billion regards individuals, €203.36 million small business loans, and €163.35 million for corporate loans. At the CCB restructurings for the end of the first half of 2015 amounted to €801.41 million and increased by the end of the year by €604.89 million.

At Hellenic Bank restructurings for 2015 came to €620.02 million of which €120.06 million regards individuals, €52.48 million small business loans, and €447.47 million corporate loans. From the end of the first half until the end of the year there were €223.99 million in loan restructurings

At Alpha Bank in 2015 there were restructurings worth €485.72 million, of which €356.65 million regards individuals and €108.56 million corporate loans.

At Bank of Piraeus restructured loans came up to €115.68 million by the end of 2015, of which €20.87 million regards individuals, €26.28 million regards retail small businesses and €68.51 million for corporate loans.

At Eurobank Cyprus loan restructurings for the end of 2015 came up to €128.64 million of which €24.14 million regards individuals, €4.97 million for small businesses, and €99.52 million for corporate loan restructures.

At the Housing Finance Corporation there were €78.16 million in loan restructuring for 2015, all of which regarded individuals.
Loan restructurings at Societe Generale by the end of 2015 were €12.93 million, at USB they were €41.19 million, and at CDB €66.34 million.
