“Reviving Tourism in Times of Crisis”: Invest Cyprus participated in the online conference organized by IDAL

As part of Invest Cyprus wider efforts for regional synergies, the organization has established bilateral and trilateral relations with neighboring countries. In this context, Invest Cyprus participated in the digital conference titled “Reviving Tourism in Times of Crisis”, organized by the Investment Development Authority of Lebanon (IDAL).

Invest Cyprus CEO, George Campanellas, highlighted the importance of the Foreign Direct Investments in the Tourism and Hospitality Sector emphasizing on the sector’s resilience over the years. Mr. Campanellas also referred to the establishment of the TourInvest Unit, a dedicated and specialized unit within the organization which aims to promote Cyprus investment opportunities in the tourism and hospitality sector. The establishment of TourInvest falls in line with the 2030 Cyprus National Tourism Strategy to establish the country as a quality year-round destination and be one of the most competitive tourism destinations by 2030.

Participating in the Invest Cyprus session, the Director General of the Cyprus Hotel Association, Philokypros Roussounides, praised the government’s efforts to support the hotel industry which were part of the wider economic recovery plan and the successful reopen of the Cyprus Hotels.
