Sales of petroleum products decrease in February

Total sales of petroleum products in February 2014 recorded a decrease of 4.9%, compared to the previous month, says the Statistical Service.

A decline was observed in the sales of asphalt, kerosene, gasoil, liquefied petroleum gases, motor gasoline and in the provisions of aviation kerosene. On the contrary, an increase was recorded in the sales of heavy fuel oil, gasoil low sulphur and in the provisions of gasoil for marine use.

Total stocks of petroleum products at the end of the month recorded a decline of 13.7% compared to the previous month. During the period January - February 2014, total sales of petroleum products recorded a decrease of 5.2% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
