Evolution from a shipboard officer focussed largely on technical and operational matters, to a shore based managerial position of a superintendent can often be challenging. With several vessels under one’s supervision, and having to deal with multitude of shore based entities and shipboard issues, one may often feel a sense of lack of control as a superintendent. This often happens due to lack of preparedness for taking such a position.
This program aims at bridging the gap in knowledge and skills that can transform a competent ship board officer in to an effective ship superintendent.
