Six new hotels to open in Larnaca

Larnaca will welcome an additional six new hotels in the summer of 2015, in the hope of gaining more tourists to the town.

According to the towns Tourism Development and Promotion Company, “Larnaca has been struggling with the development of tourism as a town as there was a limited number of hotels, which was in turn constricting the tourism industry”.

“Larnaca should be considered a complete destination with enough hotels to cater for the needs of different tourists, at the moment this does not exist. Adding new hotels this year will therefore be promising to the development of the tourism industry in Larnaca.”

Not only shall Larnaca see new hotels opening but rundown hotels that have been closed for years have finally been renovated.

Mikes Kanarium, shall open at the end of April located near St. Lazarus, the hotel will consist of 26 rooms.

Two hotels are expected to open at the end of May. The Ciao Stelio, located in the Mackenzie area will have 52 rooms. Also the, Lokal Hotel, with 17 rooms and a gourmet bistro shall be opening in the St. Lazarus area.

Opening in July is, the Josephine Hotel with 30 rooms and a pool roof in the Zenons Kitieos area as well as the, Palatakia Hotel which will have a more traditional feel with only four rooms.

The former Easy Hotel, located in the heart of Larnaca, with 55 rooms has now been renovated and will be open for busy at the start of summer.

In addition the St. Helena Hotel has also had a makeover, with 21 rooms a spa, indoor and outdoor pools it will be ready to greet tourists in the summer.

The derelict buildings of Lenios Beach and Michael’s Beach Hotels on Dhekelia road will be fully renovated and restored for use.

The Tourism Development and Promotion Company of Larnaca believe that it is important to invest in the hotels to ensure the town becomes a prime tourist destination.
