With the most important changes in data privacy regulation in the last 20 years in full implementation from 25th May 2018 - the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) : the 4th NPF Cyprus aims to be addressing key concerns, challenges and opportunities of the GDPR through a 45 minute workshop taking place on Day 1. This workshop will be hosted by Peter Oakes, Founder, Fintech Ireland (Oakes is also former director of the Central Bank of Ireland) and features insights from prominent industry thought-leaders such as Gert Heynderickx, Legal Counsel and Company Secretary, European Payments Council (EPC) and Paul Alfing, Senior Consultant Retail, Payments Advisory Group, member e-Payments Expert Taskforce, Ecommerce Europe.
PSD2- another directive set to change banking as we know it, will be the focus of another engaging and interactive panel discussion, exploring the opportunities being created by PSD2 and the forward thinking strategies being developed. This topic will be the focus of the event’s opening keynote presentation lead by industry heavyweight, Michael Salmony, Chairman CAPS (Convenient Access to PSD2 Services) & Executive Advisor, equensWorldline. The aim of PSD2 is to stimulate competition in the EU payments market, making it easier for new entrants to gain a foothold in the payments space.
