Trade deficit drops in Jan 2015

Cyprus' trade deficit recorded a decrease in January 2015, reaching €99.6 million, compared to €285.0 million in January 2014, according to the Statistical Service.

According to a press release, total imports/arrivals (covering total imports from third countries and arrivals from other EU member states) in January 2015 amounted to €357.9 million, compared to €396.1 million in January 2014.

Total exports/dispatches (covering total exports to third countries and dispatches to other EU member states) in January 2015 were €258.3 million, compared to €111.1 million in January 2014.

Exports/dispatches of domestically produced goods, including stores and provisions, were €63.3 million, whilst exports/dispatches of foreign goods, including stores and provisions, were €195.0 million in January 2015.
