UK-Cyprus Enterprise unveils 2016 agenda

The UK-Cyprus Enterprise Council (UKCEC) announced the latest addition of two UK Cypriots to its team of professionals working towards enhancing trade and partnerships between the two countries.

Ellie Patsalos and Robert Kyprianou “bring deep business and financial knowledge and unrivalled connections to the table and will make a significant contribution to the Council’s work in the UK and Cyprus,” said Chairman of the UKCEC, Peter Droussiotis.

Ellie Patsalos is the founder and Managing Director of Patsalos Consulting Ltd, a strategic advisory firm, with long experience in the professional services sector. Robert Kyprianou has held senior management positions in several blue-chip City organisations in his 30-year career. Since retiring in 2009, he has moved into a number of advisory and board positions with banks, public and private companies, and endowments in the United Kingdom and in Cyprus.

Some of the highlights on the UKCEC agenda for 2016 include an event with Henley & Partners, an Ambassadors’ networking luncheon, a seminar on the importance of transparency and corporate social responsibility, as well as an SME-focused symposium in Cyprus.

The year’s events agenda is expected to culminate in a Gala for Enterprise, which will showcase some of the best aspects of Cyprus and its people.

The Council is also one of the sponsors of ‘London to Nicosia – Art, Expression ad Connection’, an exhibition which aims to link British-Cypriot artists to their homeland.

The exhibition will be hosted at the Zmart Gallery of Loukia & Michael Zampelas Art Museum in Nicosia in April and will be opened on 6 April by the British High Commissioner in Cyprus, Ric Todd, in the presence of Cypriot Minister for Education and Culture, Costas Kadis.

Meanwhile, high-profile Cyprus-UK Business Forum events, organised jointly with the Council’s strategic partners on the island, the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and the Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency, with the participation of the Cyprus Minister for Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism, are planned for London and Edinburgh in the Autumn.
