Cyta enters partnership with international satellite provider

Cypriot telecommunications company Cyta this week officially announced its collaboration with ABS, a prominent international satellite provider.

According to the announcement, the partnership aims to support ABS’s satellite navigation services and facilitate the continuous development of its services in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region. Moreover, Cyta will offer satellite access through its “Makarios” satellite station in Cyprus, along with broadband extensions through its international submarine cable network, which provides high security, flexibility, and scalability. ABS has already transferred its services to the “Makarios” satellite station, which is supported by a highly skilled workforce, and state-of-the-art facilities, and holds the highest Tier-4 certification from the World Teleport Association (WTA).

Located in an advantageous geographical position, the station provides optimal conditions for satellite communications and maximum access to satellites visible from Cyprus. Costas Psillides, Manager of International Wholesale Markets at Cyta, expressed his satisfaction, stating that “we are extremely pleased that ABS has entrusted Cyta with these significant services through the ‘Makarios’ satellite station”. “This project represents a significant expansion of our capabilities in supporting satellite navigation services in collaboration with a highly recognised international satellite provider like ABS,” he added. “We firmly believe that this partnership will contribute to creating a fertile environment for further development, unlocking new opportunities for us,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, Ron Busch, Executive Vice President of Network and Engineering at ABS, also shared his enthusiasm, saying that “we are excited to collaborate with Cyta through the ‘Makarios’ satellite station, which is WTA-certified, ensuring the reliability and support required to deliver world-class services to our customers”.
