International brands attracted to Cyprus' first outlet village

Cyprus is set to enjoy a novel shopping experience as work on the island’s first designer outlet and entertainment village is set to begin in September and completed by May 2020.

Construction is pending the issuance of the license from the Town Planning Department.

Designed on European outlet shopping villages, which are gaining popularity across the continent, the Neo Plaza fashion outlet will be developed in the area of Kokkinotrimithia, near the new Nicosia Mall, in an area of more than 35,000 sq.m.

The companies involved in the project, Danos Real Estates, an alliance member of BNP Paribas Real Estates, and Neo Plaza Ltd, expect the complex to be opened sometime in May 2020.

Meanwhile, investors in the project are busy trying to sign on big fashion, dining and entertainment brands.

As confirmed by a source close to the procedure the following brands will have secured stores at the designer village in Nicosia, while others are in advanced discussions and are close to joining the project.

McDonalds: the dinner franchise with 18 restaurants island wide.

Prince Oliver: One of the world’s best known designer brands.

Skechers Shoes: With a turnover of $4.16 billion, is one of the world leaders in the sport and lifestyle shoe industry

Matou France: Leading manufacturer of children’s clothes for over 40 years

Alba Shoes: Known shoe brand

Anonima: Features women's clothing and other items

The Mall Kiosk: Kiosk franchise, present at all malls.

Prive Sports: Stores carry known brands sin sports and casual clothing such as Αdidas, Nike, Franklin Marshal, Superdry, Levis, Fila, Eastpak, Under Armour.

Panaidis Eyewear Boutique: Active in the field of optics for the last 40 years with 20 modern stores in Attica and the Greek islands.

C.A. Papaellinas Beauty Outlet: The company with half a century of activities in Cyprus will set up its own cosmetics and beauty shop.

Vardas: Vardas clothing stores have an 80-year presence in Greece and have built a good name.

Admiral Sport Shops: The well-known chain of sportswear

Mikel Café: Greek café franchise will be serving coffee at the Neo Plaza.

The outlet village will also have a kids corner with Volta Fun Town setting up a kids entertainment park. Volta Fun Town has a number of children’s theme parks in a number of malls in Greece.

Neo Plaza village is next to the industrial area of Kokkinotrimithia and will be accessible via the Nicosia - Troodos highway.

It will be located 12 km outside of Nicosia and 160 metres away from the Nicosia - Troodos highway.

The village will contain 50 discount shops, 10 cafes/restaurants, an indoor playground, 250 parking spaces and a 5,000 sq.m green area.
