Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s historic visit to Cyprus in June 2025 – the first by an Indian Prime Minister in over two decades – set the stage for a comprehensive strategic partnership. During this landmark visit, PM Modi was conferred with the Grand Cross of the Order of Makarios III, Cyprus’s highest civilian honor, and both nations adopted a Joint Declaration outlining the India-Cyprus Action Plan 2025-2029. This momentum was further strengthened by Cyprus Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos’s first official visit to New Delhi in October 2025, where he met with External Affairs Minister S.
